The way it's made in
Italy.

Where Southern Italian hospitality meets real Italian craft.

Welcome to Da Orazio Pasticceria. Modern and traditional Italian pastries, cakes and desserts, all made by hand every morning, the way they’re meant to be.

Our shop sits at 200 Euston Road, Alexandria, with a sunny cafe at the front so you can watch the magic happen while you wait. Dine in, pick up an online order, or take treats across the road to Sydney Park or back home to the table.

Come and try the Da Orazio way.

The classics, handmade daily

Cannoli, maritozzi, lobster tail and real Italian coffee. Handcrafted every morning. Vieni a trovarci.

The home of maritozzi.

Our absolute signature pastry. A pillowy Roman brioche, split and piled high with fresh cream, then finished the way the day calls for it. Pistacchio di Bronte, dark chocolate, vanilla, or just plain cream and a dusting of sugar.

Made by hand every morning, sold until they’re gone. Most days that’s lunchtime.

Coffee by Vittoria

The same Italian story, in your cup.

Every espresso, latte and macchiato we pull is Vittoria. Australia’s premium Italian coffee, roasted in Sydney from the best single-origin Arabica beans.

It’s the cup the Italians order at the end of their meal. We figured you’d want it too.

Cornetti, made daily.

Golden, flaky and buttery. Hand-rolled and baked fresh every morning, our cornetti are Italy’s answer to the morning pastry.

Not a croissant. Different dough, different texture, same irresistible ritual.

Come in for one with your coffee, or take a few away for later.

Una storia di famiglia

Orazio D'Elia - Founder

Born and raised in Pomigliano d’Arco and trained in Naples, Orazio opened this pasticceria in Sydney in 2024. The recipes you’ll taste here are the ones his nonna taught him before he could reach the counter.

He’s also the owner of Da Orazio Ristorante in Bondi, as well as Trattoria Da Orazio in Rushcutters Bay. The Pasticceria in Alexandria is the dessert side of the same story: Italian, by hand, no shortcuts.

"In Italia non si vende il dolce. Si racconta una storia."

In Italy you don't sell the pastry. You tell a story.

His focus is your enjoyment of the best Italian treats, to share at the table with family and friends. Southern Italian hospitality, with flavours and styles from all over Italy, brought to you right here in Sydney.

If you can't go to Italy, go to Da Orazio.

L'arte della pasticceria

Andrea Tromboni - Head Pastry Chef

Born near Pavia, just outside Milan, Andrea discovered his passion for pastry through his grandmother, Tina, who taught him many of the recipes he still makes today, and one phrase has remained with him throughout his career: “If I do this job today, it is thanks to you.”

After training at the historic Pasticceria Vigoni in Pavia and CAST Alimenti in Brescia, Andrea moved to France and built an international career, notably working as the Head Pastry Chef at Châteauform across Europe, Miramare Palace Hotel in Sanremo and Four Seasons in Miami, and Executive Pastry Chef at San Clemente Palace Kempinski in Venice. His work has taken him as far as Qatar, where he was invited to create panettone and desserts for a Qatari Sheikh’s wedding celebrations.

"A three-time World Panettone Championship competitor, Andrea has earned two silver medals and a bronze, and was recognised as a Maestro Pasticcere in 2021."

In Italy you don't sell the pastry. You tell a story.

Now working alongside Orazio in Sydney, he combines his Italian roots, French technique and international experience to create pastries that balance tradition, precision and creativity, while continuing to evolve in a city that increasingly feels like home.
